Showcasing Student Research, Honors, and Academic Excellence at RWU
RWU's Student Academic Showcase and Honors, or SASH is our annual celebration and showcase of undergraduate and graduate student work throughout the academic year. It is where we showcase what defines RWU—which is what students bring to RWU—and why RWU is such an amazing place to be.
SASH is held each spring and is an opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students to share thesis presentations, capstone projects, panel discussions, design work, exhibitions of visual and multimedia artifacts, performing arts recitals, literary readings, theatrical showcases, andCommunity Engaged Projects.
Throughout the academic year, students from all programs do unique and impressive work. Presenting the results of this work to a larger community is a skill that will continue to be important in the professional world. SASH demonstrates the depth of student talent and the power of hands-on learning at RWU.
SASH 2025 Schedule and Highlights
SASH is full day of thesis and capstone project presentations, panel discussions, exhibitions of design work, and performing arts recitals and showcases held across campus and virtually.

What happens on SASH Day?
Students present and share about their classroom projects, research, capstone and honors projects, and all of the other amazing work done throughout the year.
Guidelines for Presenting Students
Students who are presenting shoulddouble check the schedule to be sure of their time and location. Presenting students should dress in business or business casual attire. SASH will have easels, poster boards, and clips on hand for the poster sessions, and Media Tech help will be available for those giving media presentations. Presenters should arrive before the start of their sessions to allow time for setup.
Tips for Attending Students
Students do not have class on SASH day so that they can attend presentations. All sessions are open to all. Drop in to any session you wish.
Find sessions that:
- Align with your major/minor or interests—either things you know you want to do, or ones you want to explore?
- Support your friends/classmates—SASH is one place where students come out one another on their academic work.
- Engage with the presenters! Say "Tell me about your research," and ask questions!
- Challenge yourself to think outside the box—are you thinking about:
- Doing research?
- Changing your major?
- Adding a minor?
- Doing an internship?
- Going to graduate school?
